Every week, Modern Warfare receives a server-side playlist update that changes up the main modes available to play. This week’s update has added a 1v1 version of Gunfight, although 2v2 is still available to play. The Shipment 24/7 playlist is making a return, but this time in a 5v5 format instead of a 6v6 and will be replacing Shoot House 24/7. Spawns have been an issue for Modern Warfare, especially on Shipment. Some are speculating that the move to a 5v5 format is an attempt to alleviate the spawn problems. Finally, Gun Game is returning and replacing Grind. This update does not require a download.
Earlier this week, Joe Cecot, co-design director at Infinity Ward said via Twitter that a big update is on its way that fixes numerous bugs and issues, including one prevalent problem with the Killfeed. New 6v6 maps are also on there way according to Infinity Ward’s Art Director, Joel Emslie. Fans have been asking for more 6v6 maps since the last update which added Shoot House, Vacant, Crash and Shipment. Emslie confirmed that IW had been listening to player’s feedback, “We completely hear you guys on this. Been working on it and continue. As fast as we humanly can.”
In other Modern Warfare news, Infinity Ward has announced a Double XP weekend which will run from January 10 10 AM PT through to January 13, 10 AM PT. This will give you the opportunity to rack up some XP and boost your level.
